KINGSTON, Jamaica — Garth Richards, a 40-year-old bookstore clerk charged for murder, was today denied bail when he appeared in the Corporate Area Resident Magistrate’s Court.

The accused man will next appear in court on August 30 when the post mortem report is expected to be ready.

At that time the court is expected to look reconsider Richards’ bail application which was made today by attorney Peter Champagnie.

The court said it wanted to confirm the number of stab wounds that were inflicted on victim Corey Solomon, who was a neighbour of Richards’ in the Kingston 2 area.

The killing occurred on July 16 as a result of a dispute between both men. The two have reportedly been at odds for a long period of time.
