Leaks, electrical problems affect water supply

KINGSTON, Jamaica — National Water Commission (NWC) customers in sections of Red Hills in the Corporate Area are presently experiencing water supply disruption as a result of a several leaks on the distribution network.
Affected areas include: Golden Acres, Plantation Heights, lower Belvedere, sections of Forrest Hills, Queen Hill and surrounding areas.
The NWC says restoration of regular service is expected as soon as repairs are completed.
Meanwhile, customers in St Thomas served by the New Pera Pumping Station, are also without their regular water supply due to electrical problems at the facility.
Areas affected are: Pera, New Pera, Bowden, sections of Barking Lodge, and Phillipsfield.
The company says that repairs are currently being carried out and in the interim water will be trucked to the affected areas.
