Les Green called into Public Defender death threat investigation
Jamaica Observer
Thursday, September 09, 2010
THE Police High Command has instructed Assistant Commissioner of Police Les Green to investigate threats made against a member of staff at the Public Defender’s Office yesterday.
This move was made after the Police High Command received the information late last night, a police news release this afternoon said.
The matter is being treated with the highest priority, the police said.
Witter told the press this morning that someone at his office had received death threats, warning them against continuing with tours of police lock-ups.
Personnel from the public defender’s office have been touring police lock-ups to get an idea of jail conditions, after reports of problems including overcrowding.
