Lottery scam team arrests 8

MONTEGO BAY, St James — Eight persons were arrested and a large quantify of money seized during three operations carried out by the Lottery Scam Task Force in St James on Thursday.

Task force spokesperson Sergeant Camille Tracey said the raids were carried out between 4:00 am and 1:00 pm at three premises in the communities of Bogue Village, Red Ground in Anchovy and Lilliput.

She said during the operations 2,319 cigars, J$257,200, US$13,271, two Toyota Corolla motor cars, a Honda CRV and two motor cycles were seized.

She said the persons arrested were being processed and charges were expected to be laid against some of them soon in relation to the seizure.
