MOCA: 7 nabbed in anti-lottery scam operations

KINGSTON, Jamaica – Four of seven people arrested by the Major Organised Crime and Anti-Corruption Agency (MOCA) in anti-lottery scam operations in St James and Hanover are to face the court this week.
They are: Damian Ottey, 18; Doshane Dixon, 19; Oshane Ottey, 23; and Joseph Anderson, 25. They are all from Prosper Road in Lucea, Hanover.
In a recent media release, MOCA said the seven people were arrested as the agency heightened its anti-lottery scam activities. MOCA said they were arrested as a result of 15 operations from October 14 to October 16.
The four who are to face the court were charged for breaches of the Law Reform Act on Thursday October 22.
Investigations are continuing, MOCA said.
