KINGSTON, Jamaica — The main suspect in yesterday’s shooting of a policeman in New Kingston is now in custody at the Half Way Tree police station.

The St Andrew Central Police confirmed this morning that the man was taken into custody last night after he reportedly received treatment for gunshot wounds.

The policeman was shot when gunmen tried to make a getaway after an attempted robbery in the normally busy New Kingston commercial district.
