TWENTY-three-year-old Joseph Edwards of Brandon Hill, St Andrew died as a result of injuries he received in a motor vehicle collision along the Temple Hall main road last night. Another man was also injured in the incident.
Police report that about 8:20 pm Edwards and three other men were travelling in a Toyota Sprinter motor car toward Temple Hall when the driver allegedly overtook another motor vehicle travelling in the same direction. The driver of the motor car reportedly lost control of the vehicle and crashed into a retaining wall and overturned into a river bed.
Edwards and another passenger were taken to the Kingston Public Hospital where he succumbed to his injuries, and the passenger was admitted in stable condition.
The Lawrence Tavern Police who are investigating are appealing to the driver of the motor car who fled the scene to report to the station immediately.
