BELMOPAN, Belize - A man was attacked and killed by a jaguar in Central Belize after the animal escaped during the passage of Hurricane Richard over the weekend.

The authorities said that Bruce Cullerton lived at the site of the old Belize Zoo and that the jaguar, which was brought there as part of a documentary that is being filmed here, escaped after a tree fell on top of the cage where the animal was being kept.
