Man shot, head partially severed in Bog Walk

KINGSTON, Jamaica — Homicide detectives in St Catherine  have launched an investigation into the reported attack by gunmen who shot and killed a man and partially severed his head in the community of Shenton, Bog Walk yesterday.

The dead man has been identified as Damion Wilson, 32-year-old construction worker and father of one.

Police report that at about 12:30 am they received reports that a group of men went to the quiet community and launched an attack on Smith at his one room wooden house.

"The men them come and a call out say them a police and when him open the door we heard several shots," said one man who identified himself as a family member.

The family member claimed that after the shooting attack the gunmen attempted to sever the head of Wilson from his body but later left the scene.

Police said the gunmen also stole several items from the house.

"When the man them a leave them all wipe them knife in the back of Wilson," said the family member who struggled to hide his pain.

Police have launched an investigation and yesterday claimed they were following several leads in the case.

Wilson's untimely demise has left residents of the community in shock.

"Boss a 50 years me live in the area and is the first me ever hear something like that me just hope police will get to the bottom of this," said one man.
