KINGSTON, Jamaica - A man is now in hospital suffering from gunshot wounds after he was attacked in the community of Tivoli Gardens last night.

Police report that about 10:40 pm, loud explosions were heard in a section of Tivoli Gardens known as Bumps. Sometime later a man turned up at the Kingston Public Hospital with gunshot wounds to the chest, buttocks, left and right leg.

Scene-of-crime investigators reportedly found six .45mm spent shells at the location of the shooting. No motive has been established for the attack.

Tivoli Gardens was once the fortress of the Christopher 'Dudus' Coke-led Presidential Clique criminal outfit. However the community has been relatively quiet since Coke's arrest and subsequent extradition after a joint police-military incursion in May 2010 and the police established a command post in the community.
