Man who killed woman beside sleeping kids charged

KINGSTON, Jamaica — Howard Williams, the man who police accuse of killing his common law wife in Ptsdam, St Elizabeth, has been charged for murder.

Police report that Williams entered the home of 47-year-old Sonia Williams and chopped her several times while she slept.

Her two children were sleeping beside her when the chopping occurred. One of the children awoke and reported to police that Williams was seen standing over the woman with a cutlass in hand. 

He left the scene and was later held by police.

Williams is expected to make his first court appearance on Tuesday.
