Mandeville man in deadly car crash to face court today

THE Mandeville businessman who was involved in a car crash, Monday evening, that claimed the life of a teacher is to appear in the Mandeville Resident Magistrate's Court today.

Police report that 26-year-old Shane Miller of Morningside Drive in Havendale has been charged with manslaughter following the crash which resulted in the death of 44-year-old Novia Reid.

Police report that at about 5:30 pm Sunday, Miller was driving his Toyota Altezza motorcar along the Melrose Hill main road in Manchester when the vehicle collided with a Toyota Corolla being driven by Reid, a teacher of Hillside district in Knockpatrick, Manchester.

Both drivers were taken to hospital where Reid died, while Miller, who also sustained injuries, was charged following his release.
