Mandeville man shot dead

MANDEVILLE, Manchester —Thirty-nine-year-old Fitzroy Edmond was shot and killed by gunmen yesterday morning at his home in Grays Hill.

According to the police, Edmond's bullet-riddled body was found at about 2:15 am, shortly after explosions were heard in the area. The killers escaped and Edmond's Toyota Altis motor car, which was found at approximately 6:00 am on Villa Road in the parish.

The police have theorised that more than one person was involved in the killing.

Edmond was said to have made a living "buying and selling used cars". His niece, Tamara Morris, said the father of five moved into the house where he was killed about three weeks ago.

"I am still numb. The news hasn't hit me yet," she told the Jamaica Observer, yesterday.

The Manchester police, meantime, are investigating the shooting.
