ATL Automotive was left reeling yesterday after witnessing Germany blow away Portugal 4-0 in their first group game of the World Cup Finals.

To celebrate the German heritage of their leading car brands Audi and Volkswagen, ATL Automotive had rolled out a 'Golden Goal' World Cup promotion over the weekend that saw the company offer J$50,000 off any Audi or Volkswagen model for each goal the Germans scored against their European counterparts. However, few expected the company would have to offer an unbelievable $200,000 off.

ATL Automotive's Hugh Okoye joked, "We know Germany are a great side, but Portugal with Cristiano Ronaldo leading the line are very good too, and we expected a much tighter match. As the goals were racking up, we were all starting to get a little worried about how much we'd have to give away and I wonder if we knew then what we know now, whether we'd have run the promotion in the first place!"

As Germany began taking control of the game, social media exploded with Jamaican motorists promising to take a trip to the showrooms in Montego Bay and Kingston to take up the offer before the deal expires 48 hours after the final whistle. The offer ends at 12 noon on Wednesday, June 18.
