KINGSTON, Jamaica -- After downgrading its Flash-Flood Warning for St Mary and Portland on Wednesday, the Meteorological Service a short while ago a reinstituted the Warning.

The Met Service had downgraded to a Flash Flood Watch after saying the system causing the downpour in north eastern parishes was moving away from the island.

However Thursday morning it cautioned that another system, a Cold Front was just north of Jamaica and could bring moderate to heavy showers across Portland and St Mary and extend into St Thomas.

This new Flash Flood Warning for the low-lying and flood prone areas of Portland and St Mary will remain in effect until 5:00 am Friday.
