Ministry to discuss scrap metal trade

Thursday, August 16, 2012 | 12:22 PM

THE banned scrap metal trade will come up for discussion again after protests by that industry’s federation today.

Acknowledging discontent from the Scrap Metal Federation, the Ministry  of Industry, Investment and Commerce today said Minister Anthony Hylton is open to discussions with the group next week.

The ministry said it “has taken note of the silent protest staged in front of its offices earlier today”, and that it appreciates that the organisers made it peaceful and non-disruptive.

Hylton is currently off the island on government business.
