Mob mauls hit and run driver, two dead

KINGSTON, Jamaica - Two men were killed, one by a motor vehicle and another by a mob, on Old Harbour Road, St. Catherine last evening.
Reports from the Old Harbour Police are that about 7:20 pm, an unidentified man was walking along Old Harbour Road when he was hit by a motor vehicle in which the driver did not stop. Residents reportedly came to his assistance but some were allegedly mowed down by the driver of a Toyota Hiace motor vehicle, identified as 41-year-old Michael Melbourne. The residents then mobbed and stabbed Melbourne several times.
The injured persons were taken to hospital by residents, where Melbourne and the unidentified man were pronounced dead.
