Motorcyclist dies after collision with MP's car

OLD Harbour resident Deron Nicholson was killed yesterday when his motorcycle collided with a vehicle being driven by former agriculture minister Roger Clarke.
Police said the accident, near Gutters in St Catherine, occurred around 2:00 pm. Nicholson, 23, died on the spot. Clarke was being questioned by the Old Harbour police up to last night.
Clarke, the Opposition's Member of Parliament for the Westmoreland Central constituency, told the Observer via telephone that he was not hurt in the crash.
Clarke said he was in the process of turning onto a premises when the motorcyclist slammed into his vehicle.

I know this is mornful but i hope Mr. Clarke is not charged .

That's why we have wing mirrors to check before we turn. Due diligence..Drive not for self but or other road users be it bike car truck or pedestrian... Not saying he is wrong but Look, look and look again...seen it all the time...cyclists getting knocked off their bikes simply because we don't look.

My condolences to the dead man's family. If it's a accident, I hope there was proper insuarance on the vehicle to fully compensate the dead man's family.
