Mount Salem police seize illegal gun

KINGSTON, Jamaica — Three people are now in police custody following the seizure of an illegal firearm by the St James police at Barnett Lane in Mount Salem in the parish this morning.

The Mount Salem police report that about 3:00am, a team of officers conducted an operation in the area, during which premises were searched and the firearm — a Browning 9mm Pistol — and sixteen 9mm rounds, were seized.

Arrangements are now being made for the three, whose identities are being withheld, to be questioned in the presence of their attorneys.
