NSWMA acquires heavy equipment to tackle fire

THE National Solid Waste Management (NSWMA), along with the Office of Disaster Preparedness and Emergency Management (ODPEM) has confirmed that the emergency response team being led by the Jamaica Defense Force (JDF) continues to report steady progress in the effort to eliminate the toxic smoke being emitted from the Riverton City Landfill.
The ground command which was established on Tuesday now has the necessary equipment to assist in the operation, the agency said.
