NWC says mechanical, electrical problems disrupting water supply in St Catherine, St Thomas

ST CATHERINE, Jamaica — The National Water Commission (NWC) is advising customers in St Catherine, who are served by the Friendship pumping station that the disruption they are currently experiencing in their water supply is as a result of mechanical problems affecting operations at the station.
NWC said affected areas include:
Fairfield Road, St Johns Road, Homestead, Clayton Heights, Fletchers Lane, Willowdene, Hopedale, Villa Nova, Old Harbour Road, Sydenham,Cromarty, Leiba Gardens, Horizon Park, McCooks Pen and Hartlands.
The company is also reporting that customers served by Wilmington Pumping Station in St Thomas, is out of water due to electrical problems.
Affected areas include:
Wilmington, Mount Stewart, Curry Hill, Brooksland and McGiven.
Customers are being assured that the NWC is making every effort to restore the water supply on or before Friday.
The NWC apologised for inconvenience that these disruptions may cause.
