Nanny stabs 2 children to death, hurts self – NYPD
Thursday, October 25, 2012 | 7:02 PM
NEW YORK, USA (AP) — Police say a nanny at a luxury New York City apartment building stabbed two small children to death in a bathtub then stabbed herself.
They say the children's mother found them after returning home with another child.
The mother arrived home Thursday evening with her three-year-old to find the one and six-year-old children in the apartment at a building called La Rochelleon on Manhattan's Upper West Side.
It's unclear how many times the children were stabbed.
Police say the nanny was on the floor of the bathroom and had stab wounds believed to be self-inflicted. They say a kitchen knife was nearby.
The mother called 911.
Police say the nanny is in custody. She's hospitalised in critical condition.
The New York Police Department is investigating.
