MEMBERS of the Transnational Crime and Narcotics Division are being praised by the Police High Command for their recent seizure of more than 2,000 pounds of compressed ganja and the arrest of three persons.

The contraband has a street value of more than $26 million.

"This proactive policing aided by strong intelligence backing, which resulted in arrests, will go a far way in curtailing the profitability of crime and significantly impacting the drug trade," a release from the high command said.

The High Command also lauded the efforts of members from the Kingston Eastern Police division, who seized an illegal firearm and arrested one man in connection with the find yesterday.
