KINGSTON, Jamaica – President of Netball Jamaica Marva Bernard Wednesday formally announced that the netball organisation in Jamaica is now incorporated under the laws of Jamaica as the Netball Foundation of Jamaica with a trading name of Netball Jamaica. "Netball Jamaica is now a fully approved charitable organisation. This is a most significant development for us as it now means we can progress forward in a structured manner. I am very pleased with this development as this was one of the major planks when I took over as president for the then Netball Association,” Bernard said during her opening remarks at Wednesday’s Sports Club forum hosted by the Sports Department of the Jamaica Observer. The Netball Jamaica president also indicated that plans were well ahead for the creation of a semi-professional league in Jamaica, which according to Bernard will be of significant benefit to netball.
