THEe Visa Unit at United States Embassy in Kingston is preparing to introduce new appointment scheduling procedures on Monday, March 18. US Embassy Kingston is confident that these changes will improve customer service, following a short transition period.

Nonimmigrant visa applicants who do not have an urgent need to travel are strongly encouraged to wait until March 18 or later to begin the process of scheduling an appointment to apply for a visa. In order to prepare for the new system there will be no scheduling of visa appointments until March 18. There are no refunds available for unused PINs.

During the next two weeks, US Embassy Kingston will share additional details about the upcoming changes in this Ask the Embassy column, including specific instructions for scheduling a visa appointment using the new system.

The Embassy staff in Kingston will answer questions you may have regarding the US Mission, including consular law, regulations and/or practice. In order to respect privacy, staff will not answer questions about specific visa applications. The embassy employs a visa appointment system, so it is only necessary for visa applicants to arrive 15 minutes before their scheduled appointment.
