ODPEM sending support team to Portland

KINGSTON, Jamaica -The Office of Disaster Preparedness and Emergency Management (ODPEM) says it will make renewed attempts today to assist residents marooned in Portland.

People living in Cane River, Drummond to Habberstadt, Robertsfield, Halls Delight and East Portland ware cut of yesterday resulting from the Yallahs River being in spate

We are aware that there is no access to the areas, ODPEM said in a release Thursday night.

The disaster management agency added that a team will be deployed to East Portland today Friday October 26, to conduct needs-assessment and provide support where necessary.
