Jamaica Observer
Thursday, September 02, 2010
BUSINESS owners are being warned of fraudulent PATH cheques being presented by customers.
The Ministry of Labour and Social Security, in a statement today, advised business owners to only accept cheques which carry the following validation features: blue and burgundy colours and a visible security mark on the back of the cheque when held at an angle.
Customers presenting PATH cheques should be required to present valid identification, said the ministry.
Businesses who have been presented with suspected fraudulent PATH cheques are advised to contact the nearest police station or call the ministry at 1-888-CALL-PATH (1-888-2255-7284).
