A patron (right) makes enquiries of a member of the Farm Town commnuity in St Ann at a table spread with several artefacts and other items from days of old. Occasion was a grand Emancipation Day celebration last Wednesday dubbed 'Ole time sinting come back again' at Noranda Sports Complex in Discovery Bay. Among the artefacts and implements on display were clothes irons, enamel pails, typewriters, cooking pots, jars, coffee pots, lamps and wash tubs. Hundreds of people from across the parish were in attendance and some 20 communities, which make up the bauxite company's community council, highlighted different aspects of old Jamaica, as well as goods produced by their members. President of Noranda Jamaica Bauxite Partners Pansy Johnson was pleased with the support, pointing out that the idea to celebrate Emancipation Day with the community was proposed by the community councils.
