Officers from the Old Harbour Police Station and the Ferry Highway Patrol were today trying to locate the female driver of this beige Toyota Yaris that overturned along Highway 2000 this morning.
The car veered off the highway into a ditch along the highway shortly after 9:00. However, officers said the woman, who was the vehicle's sole occupant, was rescued by a passing motorist who it is suspected took her to a hospital.
The officers were up to midday still trying to ascertain whether she was at the Kingston Public Hospital after checks at the Spanish Town Hospital in St Catherine suggested she was not taken there.
One eyewitness said he was across the road washing when he heard brakes screeching, then a loud impact.
"When she come out, she couldn't walk and the man gave her a pillow so she could put at her head," he said.
Meanwhile, just a few minutes away in Four Paths, Clarendon, a Mitsubishi pick-up truck collided with a wrecker, causing severe damage to both vehicles.
