KINGSTON, Jamaica — The Jamaican team for the 2015 World Championships in Beijing, China, was today feted by the Japanese during a send-off ceremony at the Tottori Civic Hall in Tottori, Japan.
The team, which has been in Japan for a 10-day pre-World Championship training camp, received tokens and were entertained by their hosts.
Special-needs children presented team members with token paper medals, which they made, and they were entertained by World number one karate expert, Rika Usami.
Tottori High school band also played Jamaica's National Anthem during the send-off. The training camp is slated to end on August 18, ahead of the August 22 start to the World Championships.
