PM off to Canada on official visit

PRIME Minister Portia Simpson Miller leaves the island today for an official visit to Canada. The trip will take her to Toronto as well as to the country's capital, Ottawa.

Following a ceremonial welcome in Ottawa tomorrow morning, Simpson Miller is expected to meet the country's governor general, before proceeding to Toronto where she is slated to participate in engagements with Canadian Government officials.

Simpson Miller is also scheduled to make presentations on investment opportunities in Jamaica to several groups, including the influential Canadian Club of Toronto.

On Thursday, Simpson Miller is expected to address members of the Jamaican community at a town hall meeting in Toronto.

The prime minister is scheduled to return to Jamaica on Friday.
