A police officer carries documents from the Duke Street offices of an attorney as investigations intensified yesterday into alleged money laundering. Detectives from the Major Organised Crime and Anti-Corruption Task force and the Financial Investigations Division took the female lawyer and five other persons into custody yesterday in relation to the ongoing probe into money laundering and other financial crimes. The lawyer is expected to be questioned by the police today, a Jamaica Observer source said. Similar raids were carried out in St Catherine and Manchester. The raids came a day after a judge made a search and seizure order in the Supreme Court. The attorney was reportedly taken from her Cherry Hill apartment in Cherry Gardens to her Duke Street Kingston offices which remained closed for the day as the police conducted searches.
