ST ANN, Jamaica — The St Ann Parish Council said it has rebuilt seven stalls at the Ocho Rios Market which were destroyed by fire on Monday, April 8.

Mayor of St Ann’s Bay and councillor for the Lime Hall division, Desmond Gilmore in addressing the monthly sitting of the St Ann Council on Thursday, May 9 said all seven stalls were built and handed over to the persons who were affected.

In an interview with the Jamaica Observer the mayor said over $300,000 was spent to replace the stalls.

The council has also reprieve fees for the affected vendors for three months, he said.

“That is our contribution in trying to get them back on their feet,” Gilmore added.
