Thursday, August 23, 2012 | 4:34 PM
KINGSTON, Jamaica — Residents of Parry Town, St Ann are now marooned on lands above Coyaba due to heavy rainfall, which has made the main road impassable, the Office of Disaster Preparedness & Emergency Management (ODPEM) said in a release.
The rainfall swamped the roadway three to four feet deep, ODPEM said, adding that a blocked drain caused the flooding .
The Parish Disaster Committee, National Works Agency and the Jamaica Red Cross have responded to the situation.
No casualties have been reported.
