The fallen ECJ bigwig self-imploded by declaring that the Parliament wanted to destroy the commission. That caused an explosion among the commission members, followed by a further demotion of the fallen one in the eyes of John Public.
Hitting rock bottom
The gay demonstration outside the UN aimed at Prime Minister Portia Simpson showed that even if just a handful, those people have hit rock bottom. They did not demonstrate when former PM Bruce Golding declared: "Not in my Cabinet" against gays. At least Portia promised to have the Buggery Act reviewed. Now people are saying the purpose of the action was to help set the tone for future asylum-seeking.
VCB and the lost silver medals
We girls are in solidarity with Veronica Campbell Brown and are rejoicing that she got only a warning from the local drug investigators. Still, she has suffered because she could not defend her medals at the World Championships in Moscow. We are mourning the lost silver medals that might have come our way from the 100m and 200m.
Cash please, no cheques
People are saying that after one too many bounced cheques, the financial institution has given instructions that only cash transactions are allowed with Miss High and Mighty! But it's worse, because no bank is willing to give her a credit card because of the sordid history.
