It happens every time. A newspaper carries photos of Boxing Day or New Year's Eve parties, he shows up with his paramour, wifey sees the photo and the year starts off with a bang. And not the right bang, if you please. The quiet neighbourhood is no longer quiet.

Evergreen Lisa Hanna

My girls don't always agree, but there was no disagreement with the Observer's pick of Lisa Hanna as the "sexiest Jamaican woman". In maturing from the slip of a girl who won the coveted Miss World title in 1993, she seems even more beautiful today.

...Tessanne Chin, too

No disagreement either over the choice of Tessanne Chin as Personality of the Year, although we all felt Usain Bolt could easily have won, too. By the way, I am hoping that Tessanne Chin's sister Tami Chynn enters the sixth season of The Voice. Still haven't settled in my mind who is the better singer of the two sisters.

Green-eyed monster still around

Of course, the green-eyed monster is still very much present. He watches every move the mogul makes and tries to outdo him. It's time he accepts that he is no longer the crown prince of Jamaica.

Happy New Year everyone! To all my faithful readers, those who do so proudly and those who hide and read, here's to a bountiful New Year, with all the goodies you wish for. Still, be financially prudent this year because things will continue to be tight.

QUESTION OF THE WEEK

Will there be a Cabinet reshuffle in the New Year?
