Gore's appointment was announced this weekend by Observer chairman Gordon 'Butch' Stewart.

With a career spanning over four decades in the construction industry, Gore has earned a reputation for providing strong leadership in the building industry and is one of Jamaica's most respected businessmen.
He is a past president of the Incorporated Masterbuilders' Association of Jamaica and past chairman of the Jamaica Developers Association, both of which he gave distinguished service.
His role in the shaping of the building industry and the economic development of Jamaica has been recognised at both the national and international level.
In September 2011, Gore was appointed chairman of the board of directors of Jamaica Promotions Corporation (JAMPRO), providing strategic leadership to the national investment and trade promotion agency. He has served on consecutive JAMPRO boards since 2007.
He was a Jamaica Observer Business Leader Award nominee in 2002, and the recipient of the Carlton Alexander Award for Excellence as well as the IMAJ Award of Excellence in the Construction Industry in 2005.
In 2007, he was presented with the PSOJ Employment Creation Award as well as the Order of Distinction by the Government of Jamaica for his contribution to Sports, Housing and Community Development.
In 2008, he was awarded the International Humanitarian Award by the American Friends of Jamaica for exemplary contribution to Jamaica's economic development and the creation of opportunities for Jamaica's youth through sport.
Gore currently serves as an active director on the following boards where his business expertise and knowledge are highly valued and respected: The Jamaica College Foundation, The King's House Foundation, The Tryall Club, The Scholarship Fund, Tennis Jamaica, and the International Tennis Hall of Fame.
He is a member of the Jamaica Manufacturers' Association, the Private Sector Organisation of Jamaica and the Incorporated Masterbuilders' Association of Jamaica.

Gore is co-founder of The Scholarship Fund, which supports financially challenged students from elementary school up to high school, and puts them in a position to win athletic scholarships to university.
A graduate of Jamaica College and St Andrew's College, Canada, he is an avid sports enthusiast who enjoys golf, tennis, swimming, cricket and football, and is a devoted Manchester United and Miami Dolphins fan.
