Still on the run

THE police have issued a new photograph of Tivoli Gardens strongman Christopher 'Dudus' Coke, who is wanted for extradition to the United States on drug and gun trafficking charges.

The photograph was found on the floor of his Presidential Click office in Tivoli Gardens, West Kingston, following the assault by security forces on the community, which began on Sunday.

"It is being strongly suggested that he has since shaved his head and face," said a statement issued today.

The Jamaica Constabulary Force (JCF) yesterday named Coke and his brother Leighton, also called Livety, among 13 alleged gang leaders who they are asking to turn themselves in.

Hours before dawn yesterday, police went to a premises in the upscale community of Kirkland Heights in upper St Andrew after they gained intelligence that Coke was hiding out there.

The cops did not get Coke, but instead fatally shot Keith Clarke, the brother of former People's National Party member of Parliament Claude Clarke. Four Jamaica Defence Force soldiers were injured.

The Bureau of Special Investigations is probing the incident.

The police have also asked Arnett Gardens area leader George Phang to turn himself him.

The police also said they wanted Donovan Ainsworth, otherwise called 'Pepsi', and Delano Walker, also called 'Fidel' of the Central Kingston community known as 'Tel Aviv'; Anthony Harding, also called 'Prince Pow' of the POW Crew; Earl Brown, also called 'Chun' of Top Road; Jermaine Layne, also called 'Cutter' of Bryden Street; Everton Douglas, also called 'Fuba', and Troy Ricketts, also called 'Okra', of Jacques Road; Michael Ewan, also called 'Mikey One Two', of Goodwich Lane; Michael Murray, also called 'Bizzy', and Andrew Salmon, also called 'Alcapone', of Hypolite Road in Rockfort, East Kingston.

On Wednesday, 11 wanted men turned themselves in to the police after they were named among 23 most wanted persons. A police source at the St Andrew North Police Division said members of the Common gang appeared shaky when they turned up at the Constant Spring Police Station.

Of that number, 12 most wanted men remain at large.

I seem to have a problem, trying to decide what to accept,
with regards to the information being offered, about Mr Coke. The U.S. claims that he is the head of an organization, that reaches accross borders. with ties in the U.K the U.S. and many other countries. In considering these facts that this man has this much power, that he could sit in jamaica and give orders to have some one killed in another country, or conduct so many drug and gun transactions just by the telephone. leaves me to

How can the pm represent such a community like tivoli and not look out for the people he represents. It's typical of these Caribbean leaders as soon as they get in power is only them and their cronies benefit. Dudus could only have a strong hold because people in the ghetto is an eye sore for politicians it's the jamaica they don't want people to see

All you farlanders who run leave Jamaica and gone, you little boys and girls should have nothing to say. The amount of times I an I come here and witness many of you people confessing how you glad you left and not coming back, if that is how some of you all feel bout Jamaica, your pity is not needed by us. We are here under the struggle while all you people can do is talk big via a comment page.

@Shaka Zulu
law-abiding jamaicans are casualities of the crime monster EVERY DAY of their lives . The fear of the decent citizens of this country gives life to this monster .
We dont have to sacrifice our lives for our country it is taken from us daily. Let us not fool ourselves these criminals WILL NOT relinquish control without a fight so matter what we put in place

Your speech is the reason this is now happening. The intimidation and people afraid to let the chips (bodies) fell where they may. Time for the law of the land to serve as the intimidating factor and no longer the words of traitors to our nation
JCF/JDF...they're known to dress like women too.

Get the facts.
Jamaicans support the law enforcement efforts, and Jamaicans support the troops.
We all want to return home without the threat of violence.
Get the facts! Just the truth!

Police must produce the Photographs of those wanted as they have done here with Coke. Photographs are very important for the Public to see the Faces of those wanted.

I don't really know if thats him, he probably leave that behind to throw off the security force. Don't we have the software that is used in the States to generate computer images, fat, slim, hairy, bald head etc of him. By the way I heard that he is fat.....so we might want to start checking all fat suspicious looking Joe....

Dudus, turn yourself in to the US authorities, don't give up your life. They only want to squeeze you a little bit, 8 to 15 years goes by quickly.
You are an intelligent man adept at business and you are still young. Serve your time and come home reformed and make millions as a legit businessman.
You can do it brethren! You can do it!

The Tivoli gunmen have out smarted the police/military 3 times now. Where are the guns. The amazing thing is how Jamaicans are willing to buy the stories of those who were being out smarted. Have the police/military have no shame? Or is it desperation?
On Media Matter
I always suspected that a lot of the stories that were printed in the foreign press originated from a local source. The issue recently with a particular journalist ( an executive member of the PAJ) prove my point.
Some of the things that we are certain of (1) 80 percent of Jamaicans with tertiary institution migrated for employment. (2) That some of these migrant friends are still here. (3) We have journalists with there political agendas bombard the Jamaica's airwaves daily. (4) That a particular party have major and unquestionable support from this media group.

@Informer Must Live. I agree, when I left JA almost 30 years ago I remember JA being no child left behind in any community. Since leaving JA the most I ever stayed away has only been 2 years since 2008 and that is because of the flare up of violence in the last couple of years and recession of course. I would love for the country to go back to what it was when I was a child, not even the country is safe anymore from thugs. I would love to have a vacation home there soon, my finger is crossed

It looks like a passport photograph. He was probably not able to complete the application process before they declared the war. Did not have enough time.
I guess when you have a "rif raff" army you come up poor planning.
You went to war against the state; you went to war against the Jamaican people; you went to war against me. There is a state of emergency so your rights have been revoked. So now you can't even invoke your rights. What a mess you made.

Just had a piece of stale bread toasted.
Could have sworn that on one side had the image of Bruce and the other something looking like how Dudus is thought to look like.
Just buttered both sides and remembered Wignall.

At the rate at which the images are reported to be changed so all govt. politicians will look like Dudus.Oops he might even look like Bruce.
Hope it won't be a case of mistaken identity.

@Shaka Zulu. Sounds like you are a supporter of Donmanship. It will get better before it gets worse. We the law-abiding citizens are prepared for that - even if it means we will become casualties of this war against donmanship and thuggery. Every year more than 1,000 of us are murdered for nothing at all. Might as well we die for something. I'm willing to die if thuggery and bad man behaviour will disappear so that my children can enjoy the Jamaica that my grandparents enjoyed...

What's up with the request for the other dons? Are they all going to be detained? I hope the government and the army knows how drastically hostile the place may become if this is their plan.
