MEMBERS of the Area 3 Narcotics Division and the Jamaica Defence Force destroyed nine and a half acres of fully-grown ganja plants in Beth Salem District and Bogdale Mountain District, St Elizabeth on Monday.

The police said that between the hours of 9:00 am and 5:00 pm, an operation was carried out by the team of officers, which resulted in the destruction of the ganja plants, 1,055 pounds of cured ganja, 28,000 seedlings, 100 pounds of ganja seeds, and two huts.

The estimated street value of the ganja is over $40 million.
