KINGSTON, Jamaica -- Police commissioner Owen Ellington Thursday morning toured sections of west Kingston and the busy downtown Kingston commercial district.

"The aim of the tour was to interact with members of the public and to provide reassurance to citizens," the commissioner said.

He made the comment as he met with members of the business community, vendors and members of the public in general.

Ellington was joined by other members of the Police High Command.
