MONTEGO BAY, St James — The police have cleared roadblocks mounted by residents this morning on the Adelphi to Montego Bay main road in the vicinity of Irwindale and Sign.

The residents were protesting the lack of water in the communities of Irwindale, Porto Bello, Over River and Sign.

The residents said they have been without piped water for the past five weeks.

Several students out for the first day of school were forced to return home as a result of the roadblocks.
