Police kills man in Spanish Town

SPANISH TOWN, Jamaica — Police are maintaining a presence in sections of St John's Road where an unidentified man was reportedly shot and killed during an operation in the St Catherine community last night.

Police reports are that at about 10:00pm they received information about a robbery and proceeded to the Willowdene community.

The lawmen said that upon entering the area they intercepted a motorcar with a group of men who were acting suspiciously.

According to the police the men opened fire and shootout ensued before the men fled in the car.

Following a search of the area a man was found suffering from gunshot wounds inside the vehicle and was taken to hospital where he was pronounced dead, the police said.
