Police kill man in St Elizabeth

NAIN, St Elizabeth — The Elizabeth police have confirmed that a man was shot and killed in the Nain community of the parish today.

He is identified as Mark Warren.

Police reported that based on information, they went to one of the mining roads of mothballed bauxite company Alumina Partners of Jamaica (ALPART).

While there they cops say that they became engaged in a shootout with men at about 1:00pm, when Warren was shot.

Warren, who was allegedly involved in the exchange of gunfire with the police, was taken to the Black River Hospital where he was pronounced dead.

A .38 revolver with five spent casing and one live round was reportedly recovered at the scene.
