KINGSTON, Jamaica — The East Kingston police say they will be going all out to quell an ongoing gang feud in the volatile community of Rockfort.
In recent months, violence has swelled between the Bass One and Harbour Road gangs in a deadly battle for turf.
Police have reported at least four murders in the community in the last six weeks.
The last person killed in the feud was a man named Jazeel Pommells, also called ‘Quaine’.
Police report that Pommells was shot multiple times on Friday, September 21. A week before two women were killed in the community.
Head of the division, Superintendent Arthur Brown, says the police will be working assiduously to ensure that law and order is maintained.
“We have conducted a number of cordon and search operations and snap raids and we will not relent in our effort to bring those responsible for this latest round of violence to book,” Brown said.
