KINGSTON, Jamaica - Police were Thursday night called to provide security for two men who were reportedly attacked by an angry mob in Papine, St Andrew.
Details about the attack, which occurred minutes after eight o’clock, are still unclear and members of the police team were tight-lipped.
However, people who claimed to be eyewitnesses alleged that the men were accused of being homosexuals and assertions made that they were caught in a compromising position.
Cops confirmed that they were called to the area but declined to state the reason for the attack.
"We can confirm that a police team was called to the area for an incident but that is as much as we are willing to say at this time," a member of the police team in Papine told the Observer
