Police seize firearm, ganja in Siloah, St Elizabeth

BLACK RIVER, St Elizabeth - The Black River police Sunday seized a firearm, two rounds of ammunition, a quantity of ganja and a compressing machine in Siloah district, St Elizabeth.

The police report that during an operation a Honda CRV motor car was stopped and searched and a Smith and Wesson 9 mm pistol and two 9 mm rounds found.

Both occupants of the vehicle were arrested.

During the raid, which lasted from 9:00am and 12:30pm, a house was also searched and 300 pounds of ganja along with a machine used to compress the weed were seized. The owner of the house was taken into custody pending further investigations.
