Police seize firearm in Waterford

ST CATHERINE, Jamaica — Police in St Catherine seized a pistol and several rounds of ammunition at the Portmore Fishing Village in Waterford this morning.

The Waterford police report that about 7:40 am, the police conducted an operation at the Village, during which a group of people were searched and the firearm — a Ruger 9 mm pistol — and a magazine containing 11 rounds were taken from a man.

The man is now in police custody, his identity is being withheld pending further investigations.
