KINGSTON, Jamaica - St Catherine North Police have intensified their search for a group of men who they believe are key players in a recent spike-in criminal activity  in sections of Spanish Town.

Cops have not released the names but say they have received information that in-fighting among members of the One Order gang, has resulted in a number of attacks in the old Capital.

"We have identified a number of persons believed to be major players in what is happening and will not ease until these persons are brought to justice," police from the Division said.

Police as part of efforts to clamp down on criminal activity detained close to 100 men in sections of the volatile community.

The detention came after a woman, Donna Cowan, was shot and killed in Tawes Pen.

Police say the killing has increased tension in the gang-ridden area.

A suspect has since been held in connection with the murder of the woman.
