Portland driver killed

NORWICH, Portland — Gunmen shot and killed 44-year-old driver Philbert McDonald here last night.
Police reports are that McDonald and his common-law wife returned home from work about 8:30 pm when two masked gunmen pounced and demanded money.
The woman reportedly ran, shouting “murder”, while McDonald started wrestling with one of the thieves.
He was shot in the chest.
The men escaped in the nearby bushes.
