KINGSTON, Jamaica -- The Senate this morning swore in the two new senators appointed by Opposition Leader Andrew Holness to fill the vacancies left by the controversial resignation of Dr Christopher Tufton and Arthur Williams two weeks ago.
Holness appointed educator Ruel Reid last week and yesterday the appointment of Dr Nigel Clark was announced.
President of the Senate Floyd Morris welcomed both men and reminded them that their responsibilities were "extremely serious". "Based on your antecedents I know both of you will make a sterling contribution to the Senate," Morris said.
